Al-Bayoumi – His Academic Endeavours And Authorship Method

الإمام البيومي وجهوده العلمية ومنهجه في التأليف

Abstract

Imam al-Bayoumi is a unique person with a sufism and sociological background. He has written many books in various fields. The problem that led to this study was that this scholar did not receive a proper place in history, although he was well-known in the field of Sufism and spiritual education, as well as his ability in many other fields of science. Very few historians have recorded his biodata. Many of  his opus were neglected and not been paid attention in term of editing or printing it. By doing so, it will be known in the field of knowledge. This article aims to highlight the biodata of imam al-Bayoumi and his academic positions in various fields of knowledge by listing his opus into two categories; printed and manuscripts. The methodology used in this research is a descriptive and critical approach to Imam Bayoumi's personality and the legacy of knowledge he left behind. At the end of the study researchers found that Imam Bayoumi was a unique person, one of Al-Azhar Sharif's scholars involved in various fields of knowledge. He spent most of his time in the field of Sufism, and produced many works in that field. He has many followers and has a Sufi approach in his own name. His students wrote about him relating to his personality in the book entitled Jami 'al-Asrar. Many of it are still in the form of manuscripts kept in the libraries. It is believes  that the al-Bayoumi opus needs to be academically edited and verified because there is possibility that some  works ascribed to al-Bayoumi may be the works or have been written by his disciples.

يعتبر الإمام البيومي شخصية فريدة ذا طابع صوفي اجتماعي، كتب العديد من الكتب في مجالات مختلفة، وتكمن مشكلة البحث أن هذا العَلَم لم يوفه التاريخ حقه، حيث اشتهر في مجال التصوف والتربية الروحية، مع تمكنه من العلوم المختلفة، ترجم له القليل من المؤرخين، مع إغفالهم جوانب كثيرة عنه وعن مؤلفاته.حيث أن مؤلفاته مهملة لم تحضى بأي رعاية تكفل بتحقيقها وطباعتها لتجد لها مكانا في أفق المعارف والمآثر العلمية. يهدف هذه الباحث إلى إبراز شخصية البيومي ومكانته العلمية وحصر ما وقف عليه من مؤلفاته، وذكر ما تم طباعته وتحقيقه من تلك المؤلفات. في مختلف العلوم. والمنهج المتبع هو المنهج الوصفي والنقدي لشخصية الإمام البيومي وما خَلَّفه من تراث علمي. وفي النهاية، توصل الباحث إلى أن الإمام البيومي شخصية فريدة أحد علماء الأزهر الشريف متضلع في مختلف الفنون. تفانى في مجال التصوف فأكثر من التأليف فيه، وله أتباع كثر وطريق باسمه. وله مؤلفات كثيرة بعضها وريقات يسيرة، وبعضها اشتهرت باسمه وهو مما كتبه مريدوه في مناقبه أعني كتاب جامع الأسرار، والكثير منها لا يزال مخطوطا حبيس الرفوف والخزانات. كما يرى الباحث أن مؤلفات البيومي لا تزال مسودة، تحتاج إلى التحقيق والتنقيح، ومن المحتمل أن تكون مما كتبه عنه تلامذته.
