Abstract

This article aims to discuss the motivational characteristics of taranum learning among young people skilled in al-Quran taranum which resulted from the data of a pilot study. The study was carried out in the state of Johor which involved interview methods with youth taranum masters and their taranum teachers. The results of this interview have been analyzed by using NVivo version 12 software to produce themes, sub-themes and matrix tables related to the motivational data of al-Quran taranum learning among youth who are proficient in taranum. The results of the study show that there are several important motivational criteria for taranum expansion which are divided into two parts, namely intrinsic motivational characteristics and extrinsic motivational characteristics. In the intrinsic motivation section, the characteristics that were successfully identified were talent, interest, feelings about the height of the Quran, always learning, adding knowledge, and liking to share. While in the division of extrinsic motivation, the resulting characteristics are examples and emulating, healthy competition, the inheritance of knowledge and support from family, teachers and friends. In the aspect of taranum learning, all these criteria form a characteristic model of taranum learning motivation among young people skilled in al-Quran taranum.

Abstrak
Artikel ini bertujuan membincangkan ciri motivasi pembelajaran taranum dalam kalangan belia mahir taranum al-Quran yang terhasil daripada data kajian rintis. Kajian dilaksanakan di negeri Johor yang melibatkan kaedah temu bual bersama belia mahir taranum dan guru taranum mereka. Hasil temu bual ini telah dianalisis dengan menggunakan perisian NVivo versi 12 untuk menghasilkan tema, subtema serta jadual matriks berkaitan data motivasi pembelajaran taranum al-Quran dalam kalangan belia mahir taranum. Hasil dapatan kajian menunjukkan terdapat beberapa kriteria penting motivasi pembelaran taranum yang dibahagikan kepada dua bahagian iaitu ciri motivasi intrinsik dan ciri motivasi ekterinsik. Pada bahagian motivasi intrinsik, ciri yang berjaya dikenal pasti adalah bakat, minat, perasaan tentang ketinggian al-Quran, sentiasa belajar, menambah ilmu, dan suka berkongsi. Manakala pada pembahagian motivasi ektrinsik pula, ciri yang terhasil adalah contoh dan mencontohi, persaingan sihat, pewarisan ilmu serta sokongan keluarga, guru dan rakan. Dalam aspek pembelajaran taranum, kesemua kriteria ini membentuk model ciri motivasi pembelajaran taranum dalam kalangan belia mahir taranum al-Quran.
