The rapid development of the world has resulted in a shift in community lifestyle to a level known as a world without borders. The practise of digitization in all aspects of the community's lives is one of the main contents of the change. The application of digital technology in the business sector has had a significant positive impact on the economy. Today's business world has largely shifted to the use of digital technology in tandem with the evolution of a technologically savvy society's lifestyle, particularly among students. Digitalization facilitates business transactions and buying and selling, but it also increases the risk of wasteful practises, fraud, and poor financial management. There are also situations where buying and selling transactions cannot be completed or experience disruptions when internet access is disrupted and traditional methods are no longer available. Therefore, this study was conducted to determine the impact of digitalization on buying and selling behaviour among Academy of Contemporary Islamic Studies (ACIS) students at UiTM Shah Alam. This study uses a survey method through the distribution of questionnaires as the main instrument. A total of 100 students were involved in the questionnaire through stratified random selection. The results of the study found that there is a significant element of influence between digitalization on the buying and selling behavior of students. According to the study's findings, there is a significant influence of digitalization on students' buying and selling behaviour. It is easier for students to buy and sell without having to spend too much time contemplating, especially when purchasing through an online platform. Digitization in business certainly simplifies students' daily lives, but it must be balanced with good financial management knowledge and practises to avoid disadvantage to the students themselves.
Abstrak
Perkembangan dunia yang semakin pesat telah membawa bersamanya perubahan gaya hidup masyarakat kepada suatu tahap yang disebut sebagai dunia tanpa sempadan. Antara isi utama kepada perubahan tersebut adalah pengamalan digitalisasi dalam segenap kehidupan masyarakat. Penggunaan teknologi digital dalam industri perniagaan telah membawa kesan yang sangat positif kepada sektor ekonomi. Dunia perniagaan pada hari ini sebahagian besarnya telah berubah kepada penggunaan teknologi digital seiring dengan perkembangan gaya hidup masyarakat yang celik teknologi terutamanya dalam kalangan golongan mahasiswa. Melalui digitalisasi, urusan perniagaan dan jual beli dapat dilaksanakan dengan sangat mudah, namun dalam pada masa yang sama membawa kepada risiko amalan pembaziran, penipuan dan pengurusan kewangan yang lemah. Terdapat juga keadaan di mana transaksi jual-beli tidak dapat dilaksanakan atau mengalami gangguan bila mana berlaku gangguan terhadap capaian internet dan kaedah tradisional tidak lagi ditawarkan. Oleh yang demikian, satu kajian telah dijalankan bagi mengenalpasti pengaruh digitalisasi terhadap tingkah laku jual-beli dalam kalangan mahasiswa Akademi Pengajian Islam Kontemporai (ACIS), UiTM Shah Alam. Kajian ini mengguna pakai kaedah tinjauan melalui edaran soal selidik sebagai instrumen utama. Seramai 100 orang pelajar telah terlibat dalam soal selidik tersebut melalui pemilihan secara rawak berstrata. Hasil kajian mendapati terdapat unsur pengaruh yang signifikan antara digitalisasi terhadap tingkah laku jual-beli mahasiswa. Mahasiswa lebih mudah membuat keputusan untuk berjual beli tanpa berfikir panjang terutamanya pembelian melalui platform atas talian. Amalan digitalisasi dalam perniagaan sememangnya memudahkan urusan seharian mahasiswa, namun perlu diseimbangkan dengan pengetahuan dan amalan pengurusan kewangan yang baik agar tidak mendatangkan kemudaratan kepada mahasiswa itu sendiri.
